Necrobutcher was born on April 13, 1968 in Oslo, Norway as Jørn Stubberud.

早年经历
Left Mayhem in 1991 due to personal concerns following the suicide of former vocalist Per "Dead" Yngve Ohlin as well as internal conflicts and disagreement with band mate Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth. In 1995, 2 years after the murder of Euronymous by Varg Vikernes, Necrobutcher reunited and reformed Mayhem along with Hellhammer and has been in the band ever since.
