He worked for the music department of Radio-Canada, writing around one hundred music themes for radio or TV shows. He was also known as a modern music composer with works played by symphonic orchestras and thus played a part with others at the emergence of this field of music in Canada. He was a professor of music at Laval university in Québec city.
