Kopano enters into a heated argument with his mother about going to the initiation school. The mother believes he should take the medical route as it is safer. He is determined to be a man, so he decides to go to the initiation school without his mother’s consent. Life at the mountain becomes unbearable for Kopano. He is eventually circumcised, but things go horribly wrong and he bleeds excessively and soon passes away. The leader of the school instructs that he must be buried in the mountains. Later, he realises that he has killed his own son.
